10am

I was the boss now but I am still handling sales until I could find a new staff to take over my work.

I was preparing to go out to meet a customer when I heard Priscilla speaking to Heng on the first floor.

Heng: A client called me to say that their goods didn't arrive at 9.30am .... I called the warehouse but nobody picked up the phone....
Heng: I called the workers, I couldn't reach them too...

Priscilla: Did you call Li, the warehouse manager?

Heng: he didn't pick up....

I stopped and roughly understood what was happening.

She was frowning because starting from this morning, we have lots of orders to deliver for this week.

Me: Priscilla, let me cancel my meeting and I'll go down to the warehouse to check....

Priscilla: let me go down with you....



11am

The 4 delivery vans were parked outside our warehouse but main warehouse door was closed.

As we walked closer, I noticed that the side door was unlocked. Priscilla had seen it too.

She opened the door and we stepped in.

The lights in the main warehouse area was not switched on but the side office lights were on.

We headed straight for it.

Greg and Li were sitting inside.

They did not look surprised when they saw us.

Greg: hey we have been expecting you.

Priscilla: what is the meaning of this?

Greg: haha... what does it looks like?

Priscilla: Li, where are the workers?

Li: 你今天好性感喔...
(you are very sexy today)

Priscilla: cut the crap.... why are you and your staff not working?

Li: 不爽开工嘛...
(not interested to work)

Priscilla: there's lots of delivery to make.... can you get your guys to start work?

Li: haha.... 哥, 这个婊子要我开工啊， 怎么办？
(bruh, this bitch wants me to work, how?)

Li was talking to Greg and Greg turned to Priscilla

Greg: they are not going to work unless I tell them to....

Priscilla: I will sack all of you... and they will have to leave the country...

Greg: haha... if you sack them.... I already have something for them as a backup... so feel free to...

A few years back, before Priscilla joined the company, our warehouse manager had retired and Greg was the one who introduced Li to Mary. Since then, Li had replaced all the workers with people from his own region.

Priscilla was angry and their conversation was getting nowhere.

Me: Greg, let's not waste time. what are your terms?

Greg: haha.... now we're talking... simple. put me as one of the directors of the company and these guys will start working....

Me: what are the other options?

Greg: pay us $500k. We'll help you settle your deliveries until the New Year and we will leave the company....

Li: 叫那婊子每晚陪我们直到货都送完也可以....hahaha
(Ask the bitch to accompany us every night until the deliveries are completed will be good too)

Li looked at Priscilla lustfully

Priscilla merely shook her head and left the place without speaking.


11.15am

Me: Greg, I can't accept any of these terms...

Greg: then prepared to get sued by the clients....

Me: why does it have to come to this? didn't the company treat you good enough?

Greg: ha... if it treats me good, then I would be standing there, not you....

Me: your sales numbers isn't that good... so you shouldn't be blaming the company....

He clenched his fist and hit the table loudly.

Greg: I worked here for 30 years! 30 years! you didn't know how hard I worked then!

Me: you can't use the past to gauge your own performance now... if you have kept it up, then it is fine.... but you are rubbish now....

He got up and rushed towards me. Greg's sudden actions caught Li by surprise and Li did not have time to hold him back.

Greg: ARGHH!!! YOU BASTARD!!!....

Greg grabbed my collar and raised his fist towards my face. I could but did not evade it.

His fist landed directly on my cheek and my vision blurred momentarily. I staggered backwards and he pulled me back.

Greg: WHO ARE YOU TO CRITIZE ME!! WHO ARE YOU?

I felt another punch on my cheek and I could taste the metallic taste of blood in my mouth.

A 3rd punch landed again before Li wrapped his arms around Greg

Li: 哥，不可以... 不可以动手...会有麻烦的!
(bruh, you can't punch him or there will be trouble!)

Greg: let go of me!

Li tried to pull Greg away from me but Greg was not letting go of my collar.

I was pulled along with Greg. However, Greg's hand was now restricted by Li and Greg could not throw another punch.

Li: 哥， 放手， 放手!
(bruh, let go!)

2 of the buttons from my shirts tore off their threads and I saw them rolling under the tables. Greg still did not let go.


11.30am

Man: OEI!.... what are you guys doing?!

The guy who spoke was behind me and Li and Greg turned their heads to look. Greg immediately let go of my collar and Li released Greg.

I turned around and it was a police officer.

Priscilla was standing behind him with another police officer.



Priscilla: Sir, these are the employees who I sacked and they are trespassing my warehouse....

She looked at me and frowned.

Priscilla: this is my husband and you've seen them hitting him.... I want to press charges....

Officer1: wait... wait... let us handle this....

Both the officers went over to Li and Greg and started speaking to them. Priscilla came over to me.

Priscilla: you're bleeding.... are you ok?

Me: nah... just a cut in my lips....

She touched my cheek and I grimace. The last time someone punched me was a long time ago but he only landed a punch on my face and it was not so painful.

When Priscilla left the office, I kind of suspected that she would call the cops because Greg had left us with little choice. As such, I had allowed myself to be hit a few more times so that I would have a case against Greg.


11.50am

Another 2 police officers entered the office.

Priscilla and my statements were taken.



12.15pm

Greg and Li were led away and I had to go to the hospital for a checkup.

Priscilla told me that she would return to the office and try to think of something.



4pm

When I was done, I called Priscilla.

She was back in the warehouse and I hurried there.



4.40pm

The parking lots outside the warehouse was empty and the main door was opened.

There was a guy in the warehouse and he was instructing 3 other foreign guys inside.

The guy stopped me when I entered.

Guy: who you? you no come in here....

Me: I'm Sam... this belongs to my company... who are you?

He looked unsure and told one of the workers to go into the office.

Priscilla and Chin emerged from the office.

Chin: hey Bala, he's my boss....

Bala: oh... sorli.... sorli....

I went into the office with Chin and Priscilla.

Me: who are they?

Priscilla: Bala is Uncle Chin's friend's brother and those are his workers.... they are helping us with the deliveries until we find replacements....

Me: what about the current staff?

priscilla: I've fired all of those assholes....

Me: I see.... so it looks like everything are settled and we can leave it to Bala and his team?

Priscilla: no.... we still need to finalize the contract....

Me: ok... I'll ask Bala to come in then...

Priscilla: not Bala.....

Just then, the door opened.

I turned back to see who it was and Bakash stepped in.

Me: Oh.... I didn't know Bala is Bakash's brother....

I turned back to Priscilla and noticed that Chin had put his hand on the back of her waist.
